The World Series in Milwaukee starts Friday, October 23, at American Family Field. The Brewers swept the Dodgers 4-0 in the NLCS and finished the season 103-59, the best record in baseball. That gives them home field, so Milwaukee hosts Games 1 and 2, plus Games 6 and 7 if the series goes that far.
These are the first World Series games in Milwaukee since 1982. Hotels will fill fast, flights will be full, and the roads around the ballpark will be packed. This guide covers what visitors need to plan: game dates, where to stay, how to get to Milwaukee, how to get to the ballpark, and how we can help with rides.
World Series in Milwaukee: 2026 Game Dates
| Game | Date | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Game 1 | Friday, October 23 | American Family Field, Milwaukee |
| Game 2 | Saturday, October 24 | American Family Field, Milwaukee |
| Games 3 to 5 | October 26 to 28 | Away (Game 5 if needed) |
| Game 6 | Friday, October 30 (if needed) | American Family Field, Milwaukee |
| Game 7 | Saturday, October 31 (if needed) | American Family Field, Milwaukee |
The Brewers will play the winner of the ALCS between Cleveland and Tampa Bay. As of October 16, Cleveland leads that series 2-1. First-pitch times have not been announced yet. Every game airs on FOX. Check the MLB postseason schedule for the latest times.
American Family Field: What to Know Before You Go
American Family Field sits at 1 Brewers Way, just off I-94, a few miles west of downtown Milwaukee. It has a retractable roof, so late-October cold and rain will not stop the game.
- Tickets: Mobile only, in the MLB Ballpark app. Screenshots do not work. See the Brewers postseason ticket page.
- Bags: Clear bags up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches, or small clutches up to 9 x 5 x 2 inches. No backpacks, coolers or metal bottles. Everyone walks through metal detectors. See the Brewers security policy.
- Payment: The ballpark is cashless. Cash-to-card kiosks are near Sections 116, 221 and 418.
- Re-entry: Once you leave, you cannot come back in.
- Food: You may bring one sealed plastic water bottle up to 32 ounces and personal-size food.
- Alcohol: Sales stop after the 7th inning.
How to Get to American Family Field
Getting into and out of the ballpark is the hardest part of a World Series night. More than 40,000 fans arrive in the same few hours, and I-94 construction is still going on near the stadium. Here are your options.
Driving and Parking
- Prepay if you can. Every lot uses license plate readers and there are no cashiers. The Brewers strongly urge fans to prepay for postseason parking in the MLB Ballpark app. See Brewers parking.
- Expect higher prices. Postseason parking prices have not been posted. Regular-season rates run $34 to $54 on weeknights and $44 to $84 on weekends.
- Arrive early. For the NLDS and NLCS, lots opened 3.5 hours before first pitch and gates opened 2.5 hours before. Expect something similar for the World Series.
- Plan to leave fast. Lots close within an hour after the game, and there is no overnight parking.
- Large vehicles pay for two stalls.
Tailgating Rules
Tailgating is a big part of a Brewers game, but the rules are strict. See Brewers tailgating.
- Tailgate only in the space you paid for
- No saving spaces and no extra stalls
- Gas or propane grills with a shutoff valve, or self-contained charcoal
- Dump coals only in the bins at the light poles
- Tailgating ends 30 minutes after first pitch
Rideshare and Taxis
The Rideshare Lot is at the south end of the Molitor Lot, off Bluemound Road and Yount Drive. Taxis use the area outside Helfaer Field. After a sold-out game, expect long waits and surge pricing. See Brewers alternate transportation.
Bus and Streetcar
- MCTS CONNECT buses stop at Wisconsin Avenue and 44th Street. Route 18 stops at National Avenue and 43rd Street. The adult fare is $2.75.
- There is no special Brewers game bus line.
- The Hop streetcar is free, but it does not go to the ballpark.
A Private Ride
With a chauffeured ride, you skip parking, rideshare surges and the long walk to your car. Your driver drops you off, waits, and meets you at a set spot after the game. If you are tailgating, nobody in your group has to drive home. Our game day and event transportation guide explains how it works, and our post on choosing a chauffeur over rideshare covers the trade-offs.
Where to Stay in Milwaukee for the World Series
Book your hotel now. Visit Milwaukee says county hotel stays rise 10 to 12% for each Brewers home game, and that was before the World Series. Ticket prices show how big this is: the cheapest Game 1 seats were selling for almost $2,000 on resale sites in mid-October.
There are four good areas to stay. Each one trades off nightlife, price and distance to the ballpark.
| Area | Distance to ballpark | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown | About 4 to 5 miles | Restaurants, bars, walkable evenings |
| Third Ward and Walker’s Point | About 3 miles | Boutique hotels, food and nightlife |
| Near West Side, West Allis, Wauwatosa | About 2 to 6 miles | Shortest ride to the game |
| Airport area | About 9 to 10 miles | Lower rates, easy flights in and out |
Drive times are short on a normal day, often 10 to 15 minutes from downtown. On game day, plan for much longer.
Downtown Milwaukee
Downtown puts you near the Riverwalk, Fiserv Forum and plenty of restaurants. It is the best base if you want to go out before and after the game.
| Hotel | Address | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| The Pfister Hotel | 424 E. Wisconsin Ave. | Milwaukee landmark since 1893 |
| Hilton Milwaukee | 509 W. Wisconsin Ave. | Formerly Hilton Milwaukee City Center, a 1928 building |

| Drury Plaza Hotel Milwaukee Downtown | 700 N. Water St. | In a restored downtown office tower |
| The Trade, Autograph Collection | 420 W. Juneau Ave. | In the Deer District next to Fiserv Forum |
Historic Third Ward and Walker’s Point
These neighborhoods sit just south of downtown and are a little closer to the ballpark than most of downtown.
| Hotel | Address | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Kimpton Journeyman Hotel | 310 E. Chicago St. | The only hotel in the Third Ward |
| The Iron Horse Hotel | 500 W. Florida St. | In a 100-year-old warehouse in Walker’s Point |
Near the Ballpark
If you mainly care about getting to and from the game, stay west of downtown. Some of these hotels run their own game shuttles, so ask when you book.
| Hotel | Address | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Ambassador Hotel Milwaukee | 2308 W. Wisconsin Ave. | Art Deco landmark from 1927, about 2 miles from the ballpark |
| Potawatomi Casino Hotel | 1721 W. Canal St. | Casino hotel in the Menomonee Valley, about 2.5 miles away |

| Residence Inn Milwaukee West | 1300 Discovery Pkwy., Wauwatosa | Suites with kitchens, good for longer stays |
| Renaissance Milwaukee West | 2300 N. Mayfair Rd., Wauwatosa | Newer full-service hotel near Mayfair |
Near Milwaukee Airport (MKE)
Airport hotels are usually the cheapest option and many have free airport shuttles. You will need a ride to the game.
| Hotel | Address | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Hampton Inn Milwaukee Airport | 1200 W. College Ave. | Free airport shuttle |
| Home2 Suites Milwaukee Airport | 5880 S. Howell Ave. | About 1 mile from MKE, free shuttle |
| Fairfield Inn and Suites Milwaukee Airport | 6460 S. 13th St., Oak Creek | Free airport shuttle |
If Milwaukee Sells Out
Look west to Brookfield, about 15 minutes from the ballpark, where the Embassy Suites Milwaukee Brookfield is right off I-94. For a resort stay, Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva is about an hour away. We can pick you up anywhere in the area and get you to the game and back. See our Milwaukee limo service for the areas we cover.
How to Get to Milwaukee for the World Series
Fly Into Milwaukee (MKE)
Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport is about 8 miles south of downtown and about 10 miles from the ballpark. It is the easiest option if you can find a seat, but flights will be limited and pricey on game weekends. Our MKE airport guide covers terminals, pickup spots and parking.
Fly Into Chicago (O’Hare or Midway)
Chicago has far more flights and often lower fares. O’Hare is about 76 miles from Milwaukee, roughly 70 to 90 minutes by car depending on traffic. Midway is about 90 miles away. A private ride up I-94 takes you straight to your hotel or the ballpark with no second flight and no rental car. See our Midway airport guide and our guide to MKE vs. O’Hare.
Take the Amtrak Hiawatha
The Amtrak Hiawatha runs between Chicago Union Station and Milwaukee in about 1 hour 29 minutes. It stops at the Milwaukee Airport station and downtown at the Milwaukee Intermodal Station. There are 7 round trips Monday through Saturday and 6 on Sunday.
One catch: the last regular train back to Chicago leaves Milwaukee in the evening, before a night game ends. If you take the train up, plan to stay overnight or book a ride back.
Drive In
- From Chicago: about 90 miles north on I-94
- From Madison: about 80 miles east on I-94
- From Green Bay: about 120 miles south on I-43
If you drive, park at your hotel and use a ride to the game. That saves you game-day parking and the post-game traffic jam. We also run long-distance car service between Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay and Chicago.
Things to Do in Milwaukee Between Games
If you are in town for more than one game, there is plenty to fill the days in between.
- Miller Brewery tour. The brewery sits just north of the ballpark at 4251 W. State St. Tours run about 75 minutes and need a reservation. The brewery is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Book on the Miller site.
- Harley-Davidson Museum. In the Menomonee Valley, a short drive from the ballpark.
- Milwaukee Art Museum. The lakefront building with the moving “wings” is worth seeing even from the outside.
- Milwaukee Public Market. Local food stalls in the Historic Third Ward. Good for an easy lunch.
- The Riverwalk. Walk from downtown through the Third Ward along the Milwaukee River.
- A Bucks game. The Bucks play at Fiserv Forum downtown, and their schedule overlaps with the World Series.
Pregame Bars and Bar Shuttles
Many Milwaukee bars run free shuttles to Brewers games if you buy food or a drink. Popular ones include Saz’s State House and Kelly’s Bleachers. Playoff service is not guaranteed, and return shuttles may stop soon after the final out, so call the bar before you count on it.
If your group wants to hit a pregame spot and then go to the game together, a private Sprinter can do both stops and wait for you after the game.

| Route | Sedan | Premium SUV |
|---|---|---|
| MKE airport to a Milwaukee hotel | $60 | $99 |

See our Milwaukee airport limo service, O’Hare airport limo service and Midway airport limo service for details.
Game Day Round Trips
For the game itself, most groups book by the hour. Your chauffeur drops you at the gate, waits, and picks you up when the game ends. There is no parking to pay for and no rideshare surge after the final out.
| Vehicle | Seats | Hourly rate |
|---|---|---|
| Luxury sedan | Up to 3 | $159 |
| SUV | Up to 6 | $199 |
| Premium SUV | Up to 6 | $225 |
| Mercedes Sprinter | Up to 14 | $249 |
| 14-passenger Transit | Up to 14 | $350 |
Hourly rides have a 3-hour minimum, plus tax and gratuity. A World Series night usually runs 5 to 6 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off. For example, a Sprinter for 5 hours is $1,245 before tax and gratuity. Split 14 ways, that is about $89 per person.
Learn more about our Sprinter limo rental, hourly chauffeur service and game day and event transportation, or see the full fleet.
Hosting Clients at the Game
Companies hosting clients or staff can book a black car for each executive or a Sprinter for the whole group. We can also set up airport pickups for out-of-town guests on the same reservation. See our corporate limo service and black car service.
Weather and Game Day Tips
Late October in Milwaukee is cool. Average highs are in the mid 50s and lows drop into the low 40s, with a steady west wind. The roof keeps the field dry, but you will be outside in the parking lot, in line at the gates, and waiting for a ride after the game.
- Dress in layers and bring a warm jacket for after the game
- Download the MLB Ballpark app and load your tickets before you leave the hotel
- Use a clear bag, or no bag, to get through security faster
- Get to the ballpark early, especially if you are tailgating
- Pick a meeting spot away from the main gates in case your phone dies
- Do not plan to drive if you are drinking
Other Big Events the Same Weeks
The Brewers are not the only crowd in town. Plan for extra traffic on these dates:
- Friday, October 23: World Series Game 1 and the Bucks home opener against the Bulls at Fiserv Forum, the same night. See our Bucks home opener guide.
- Sunday, October 18 and Thursday, October 29: Packers night games at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. See our Packers game day guide.
- October 30 and 31: Possible Games 6 and 7 fall on Halloween weekend, with parties and events all over the city.
